Although paper such as diplomas, certificates are inherently fragile, they can be easily and effectively protected from damage and deterioration by using wood frames, such as diploma frames. Good diploma frames protect paper from dust, humid and excessive light exposure. Some people hesitate to clean wood diploma frames for fear of damaging it. Here's how to clean those beautiful, but delicate diploma frames safely.
Steps:
1. Dust wood frames with a soft rag, or vacuum with a vacuum cleaner brush
2. Use a soft cloth to apply oil soap to particularly dirty wood according to the oil soap manufacturer's directions.
3. For tough stains, clean your diploma frames with mineral spirits as a last resort. To test for staining, use a soft cloth to apply the spirits to an inconspicuous area of your frames. If the spirits do not stain, moisten that soft cloth with mineral spirits and lightly dab the spot or stain. Allow to dry.
Small tips:
Keep an addistional sponge in hand from extra drop from oil or mineral spirits.
